LI: To learn how to make shades and mix colours
This week for tech instead of coding we were learning how to make shades of a colour and make new colours by mixing! I really enjoyed doing this because its something new and I like creating art. We had 3 different colours to start with, red, blue, and green. We also got a little bit of black and white. First of all we got little pieces of cardboard paper and cut them into smaller pieces to paint on. We then got the colours and painted on the pieces with some of the possible colour outcomes. We then added some white and black to make the colours lighter or darker. When we got enough colours we sticked them onto a bigger piece of paper in a circle to present the colour mixes.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Step It Up | Art Challenge
LI: To make a description on the art we have coloured
My base colour for the waves were blue and white to show the emotion of calmness. I made the background a crusty white and light brown blank colour to show it is calm and bland, I used only 3 colours to show the painting is not rushed. I used both dark and light colours to show that the mood changes depending on the time of the day.

Art Colouring Book
LI: To experiment with colours
This morning Room 5 and LS2 tried one of this years Summer Learning Journey activity called Art Colouring Book. The purpose of this task was to experiment with colour from the original palette with pop colours. This allowed us to recolour famous paintings or images of landmarks around the world. Me and my partner Daniel started with colouring a simple picture full of shapes then proceeded to move on to the famous japan landmark, The Wave of Kanagawa.

Tuakana Teina
Today LS2 helped room 1 and room 2 create art panels. We got black strips of black paper and drew custom patterns with chalk so if we made a mistake we could simply rub it off. When we finsihed our patterns we put glue and put string on. My partner was Elisha.

Family Tree
LI: To create a family tree of your family
Above is my family tree. This was a challenge because i didn't know that much about my ancestors and relatives. This was a challenge from Mrs Pryde. When we finish our family tree we email it to Mrs Pryde and puts our name in the draw for a prize.
Sunflower Painting
LI: To paint a still life of sunflowers in the style of Vincent Van Gogh
Last week we painted sunflowers! The style we based our paintings of was the style of, 'Vincent Van Gogh'. We had to think about the tone, shading, and lighting to make the painting more realistic. We mixed and blended colour to make different shades of the same colour. The colours we used were copper, mustard, yellow, black and white. I used blue to colour the vase. The technique we used to paint was dabbing. To make it look real we only painted in one direction. What i liked most was painting the petals.

Cityscape of New York
LI: To write a description of my cityscape using prepositions.
Standing tall holding a torch in her right hand and a tabula ansata in the left hand. Making New York look amazing. The statue of liberty stands out with its astonishing crown. The shape of this building makes it easy to recognise. Making the buildings behind look like mini lego buildings. Shining bright in the night sky. Made out of copper, cast iron, steel and surprisingly including gold. Only some know that the Statue of Liberty is 93 meter! New York being an amazing city because of it being filled with big, tall, and attractive buildings, or structures. It has been there since 1952, when world war 2 ended. People ask, ‘How can this be so special? It has no inside?’. Welp, the statue of liberty is an important architect gifted by France! It is a prominent building in New York. Are you aware that around 10,000 people visit the Statue Of Liberty each day!
