For tech this week we were doing food technology. Our teacher for tech is Mrs Heka and we were at Tamaki College. We were practising our knife skills. We made a colourful fruit salad. It had yogurt, yellow and green kiwifruit, oranges and grapes. We had to cut the skin of the kiwifruits and the oranges. When we got the yogurt we had to measure how much with a measuring spoon. We took exactly 1 cup of yogurt. When we had cut all of the fruits we got a cup and then put our fruits in. After we put pieces of fruit we added yogurt to change up the layers. It tasted delicious!
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

Ancestors Poem
LI: To write a poem to describe your ancestors using the literary devices of alliteration, onomatopoeia, metaphor, simile, hyperbole and rhyme.
This is a google slide to represent my ancestor poem. The poem is about my ancestors, culture and my cultural beliefs. Poems have been around since the 13th century. They can be about culture, love, horror, friendship, etc. They are powerful peaces of writing to show somethings meaning.

We first tried to find out how much metres of material were needed to make one ta'ovala. After find out how much one is, we the multiplied the one to twenty six. We broke down twenty six by twenty & six. We the multiplied both twenty and six by the one, and we added both products together to find out the answer.

Art: Outside The Box
LI: To create a picture by thinking outside the box.
For this activity we had to take a random shape and turn it into a picture! The first thing that i thought about this shape was a nose. I chose a fish because i was really interested in swordfish when i was young. I realised that the shapes spike was too small for it to be a sword fish so i decided to mix it with a fish. This was all really fun!
