SLJ Week 1 Activity 1 - Scavenger Hunt with Nano Girl

LI: To collect materials needed to successfully complete our weekly superpower building missions with Nano Girl.

This morning LS2 worked in groups with our Year 4 students to help them create their first Summer Learning Journey blog posts. PBS are still at school this week so finding some of the materials we needed for our treasure hunt was easy. Our challenge is going to be able to find all the materials we need at home now. I found this activity fun because I am looking forward to the other summer learning journey and nano girl experiments.

  1. Hi Azatulah,
I found your blurb really enjoyable to read and it was really interesting. I also did this with my partner but I had created a slideshow showing the photos of our group getting the different materials and us as a group. Maybe next time try making your learning intention a different color from the title so that it stands out. Other than that what invention will you chose to create?

    Great Job!

  2. Hey Lukah, Riley, Giovanni, Max, Azatulah, Karlos and your room 5 partners,

I’m Daniel from the SLJ Blog commenting team. I’m looking forward to seeing all your amazing blog posts and I hope you’re enjoying your summer.

That’s awesome to see you school is getting the younger and older students together to help each other through the task. I see you’ve got lots of useful equipment there to help you out with the future tasks from Nanogirl.

We’ve had a sneak peek at the challenges Nanogirl has in store for you and they look really exciting, I’m looking forward to seeing how you guy’s tackle the challenges ahead.

I couldn’t see if Max was registered for the SLJ and I don't know who your room 5 partners were so I can’t send them this comment. Please share this with them if you can and maybe ask if they’d like to register for the SLJ challenges this summer too.

Everyone who participates will receive a certificate and a digital badge for their blog and there are some great prizes up for grabs for our most active bloggers. It's also a lot of fun! You can register here.

    Great stuff Team.
See you later in the comments.

    Daniel

  3. Kia Ora Azatulah!

Its great to see you collaborating with other people for this activity! I have just watched you and your groups collaborated video, you all spoke clearly and confidently. I have also done this activity, although me and my partner never had all that was required we improvised and found anything that was a suitable replacement.

Using these items, what is something you would make?

    Keep up the great work!
